Work Day at the Seminary

The grounds at the Seminario Biblica Bautista Independiente de Quetzaltenango needed some work, so on Monday students and teachers/pastors alike pitched in for a very productive work day.

There have been a few construction projects going on, so there was some general clean-up needed, hauling blocks, bricks and debris out of the parking area below.

The entryway also needed to be concreted before rainy season hits. It's usually a mess when it rains!

Joseph and I helped shovel sand into sacks to be carried away by the men. I was there for a while, until the director's wife asked me to help with lunch preparations. Now THAT was more along my lines...

I got to grill steaks. Made me the heroine of the day. :o)

Everyone had a mind to work, and the work got done in good time.

Here's Joseph in his rubber boots, mixing up concrete with his feet. Looks to me as though he had fun!

Jessica and Jillian carried bricks up to the pile. They were smart to wear their little bonnets, since the sun was SO strong.

Even J.B. found a job he could do! He used the small shovel, and had fun helping out.

After we served lunch to all the workers, I took the children home for naps while Daniel and the other men stayed to finish the concrete work. It was a good, productive work day at the Seminary!
